Automotive Engineering‌, founded in 1979, is an academic journal administered by the China Association for Science and Technology and sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers of China. It comprehensively presents the research achievements of China's automotive industry, boasting extremely high authority and influence in China's automotive academic community. Indexed by multiple databases including the U.S. Engineering Index (Ei), it is a core journal of Chinese science and technology periodicals. It won the title of "100 Outstanding Chinese Academic Journals" in 2002, and was consecutively selected as a "Chinese Premium Sci-Tech Journal" from 2008 to 2017. The journal mainly publishes academic papers covering automotive theory research, as well as product development, design, manufacturing, application and experimental research of complete vehicles and auto parts. It comprehensively reflects the application of various high and new technologies (such as information, computer and network, automation, microelectronics, communication, new energy, new materials, new processes, environmental protection, etc.) in the automotive and transportation fields.
