YOFC has launched a 10Gbps automotive multimode fiber optic communication solution for the automotive optical communication field, specifically tailored for in-vehicle camera perception. Leveraging YOFC’s deep expertise in optical fiber and cable, the solution is independently developed across all key nodes of the link, including multimode hybrid fiber optic cables, hybrid opto-electronic connectors, PON optoelectronic transceiver modules, Opto-Electronic Distribution Nodes (OEDN), and Optical Control Units (OCU), thereby establishing a complete automotive optical communication link. By replacing existing automotive copper harnesses with hybrid fiber optic cables, the solution achieves simultaneous optical transmission and power delivery, significantly reducing wiring complexity and overall vehicle weight. The camera end integrates a PON optoelectronic transceiver module in an ultra-compact design, representing the smallest automotive fiber optic camera solution demonstrated to date. The link leverages the OEDN for upstream optical combining and downstream splitting: multi-channel image data is aggregated upstream via TDMA, while downstream control signals are broadcast-distributed through the OEDN. The OCU then synchronously processes and schedules multi-channel service data for real-time display output. Currently, YOFC is actively collaborating with automakers and partners across the upstream and downstream supply chain to accelerate the mass adoption of automotive optical communication.
